Take I 95 to Sunrise Blvd.Go east to beach and pass over the Intracoastal Waterway. On left there is a fire station and next is the Birch State Park.Enter the park. Cost per car is $ 4.00.Pass the guardgate and go till you see the Pavillion # 2.Park here.GO down sidewalk to pavillion and go thru the picnic tables.THere are restrooms under this pavillion.Go to right. You will see a GIGANTIC banyan type tree.It is called a lofty fig tree.Just past the tree is a lone palm tree with other smaller trees near it and some low brush plants. It is toward the playground to the north of fig tree.
Under palm tree and between the smaller trees is your letterbox.
This park is huge.THere are iguanas all over and they are quite large.THey look like alligators. One mom with us swore she saw an otter run thru the road.
The beach can be accessed from park.THere is a tunnel that goes thru over AlA to sun yourselves if you so choose.
Pack a nice lunch and enjoy this quiet haven.
