DRIVE BY.

From I-81 Take the King St Exit (13). Proceed on King Street towards downtown Martinsburg. Take a right onto Queen Street. The library will be on your left at this intersection. Turn right onto South Street. You will see two cemeteries one on each side of the street. You are allowed to park on the right side of the street. Park near the main entrance (the one with the iron gates) of the cemetery on the left.

The one on the right is the Catholic one and is totally locked not even allowing visitors without an escort. You will see why when you enter the other cemetery. Vandalism at night so not to worry. This is a safe area during daylight! Ignore the "No Trespassing" signs. These are for the evening partiers. If by some rare chance someone asks just tell the truth. You are here to visit Janney Upton's grave.

CLUES:
You are entering the Norbourne Parish Cemetery which was established in 1772. This is the site of the original Trinity Espiscopal Church. From the main gate proceed straight to the large monument for Sarah Faulkner. From here take a compass reading of 210 degrees. Follow this to a small version of the Washington Monument in memory of Maria Cooper. Stand behind the marker and take a reading of 310 degrees to a cross in memory of Sam Hutchinson. From here take a final reading of 10 degrees. Walk in this direction until you find a marker for Janney Lupton. It is about 80% covered with a vine/bush. Face this marker and walk about 5 steps ahead and slightly left to a very tall and odd looking hedge/tree. The box is located within this hedge.

Writing inside the logbook describes the point of the name for this letterbox.
