This box is back in service after a lengthy hiatus.
************************************************

The walking trail along Lake Superior is handicap accessible, but the last 10 feet or so to the letterbox is off trail and would not meet ADA standards.

The Washburn walking trail begins at the Wikdal Memorial Boat Landing at the south end of 6TH Ave West in the City of Washburn. The gravel trail runs east from the east end of the parking area.

Follow the trail to the second bridge. From the west end of the second bridge take 9 kid-sized steps along bearing 330 degrees to the base of a double-stemmed Thornapple tree. The box is under a fair-sized rock.

This box was assembled and placed by our then-9-year-old son.
