Letterboxing is a famly-affair for us, so when the youngest Frequent Flyer wanted to plant her own letterbox, we encouraged her to do so. Both sets of her grandparents live on lakes, so she wanted it to be near a lake. Being an urban family, there was only one true choice; Hoyt Lake. She designed the stamp, and carved it herfelf. As for the directions, most of the ideas are hers, with a little parental guidence. Bear with us and good luck!

Clue
Park in back of the Albright-Knox art gallery, and begin on the steps that lead down to Hoyt Lake. Turn left and begin walking. You'll cross a bridge, over the lake. Stay on the path to your right and keep walking. When you get to the Y in the path, stay by the lake, it's all about the lake. Stay on the path until you're about halfway down the lake. You'll reach an area where the path curves to the left, and a dirt path curves to the right. Where the curve begins, turn around and stand on path and dirt. From here, walk back in the direction you came: 33 kid-steps or 22 adult steps. There will be "weepy" tree on your right and a lakeside tree on your left (we think it might be a locust tree). Look under the roots of the lakeside tree for her box.
