July 2009 - I'm told that the job is missing. Hope to visit the island by fall, will confirm after my trip.

This letterbox is dedicated to Jane Seymour for her portrayal of Elise McKenna. Ms. McKenna was an up and coming actress in 1912 in the movie “Somewhere In Time”. Filmed in 1980 at beautiful Grand Hotel on Michigan’s Mackinac Island, “Somewhere In Time” also starred Christopher Reeves as playwright Richard Collier. SIT is a love story with a twist of time travel as well. But the best part is viewing the magnificent Grand Hotel and the fact that no automobiles are allowed on the island. I love to hear the clip-clop of the horse drawn carriages. It’s my favorite space.
I have been blessed with being able to stay at Grand Hotel a few times and two years ago was able to meet Jane Seymour in person. She was there for a week while photo/filming her home décor line “Grand Hotel Collection”. She was so gracious and patient with fans; and signed autographs with a smile.
Jane is a mother, actor, producer, painter, writer, and designer and is involved with many charities. She’s a wonderful actress and a classy lady.
Clue to the Box:
On the grounds of Grand Hotel is a Walking Pathway with designated exercise stations throughout. To find this pathway, head for the Library which is on the west end of downtown; find the boardwalk and continue. You will soon see the school on the right with the playground then some tennis courts. Head for the woods behind the tennis courts and you'll see the Walking Pathway. Find station number 10. With your back to the front of the station sign; go east down the path (away from the sign). You'll see one bench then two. Stop at the second bench. Get ready to stamp-in. Look over your right shoulder to 2 trees directly behind you. At the base of the left tree is Elise McKenna. Please use caution, this can be a well travelled area and workers might be near.
Have a Grand time on the remainder of your stay!
