This box is located along the Kal-Haven Trail State Park. It is a multi-use park linking Kalamazoo to South Haven. Originally a railroad completed in 1870, it has been converted to a trail with a limestone/slag surface. The Kal-Haven Trail State Park is operated by VanBuren County and is promoted by The Friends of the Kal-Haven Trail. A user fee is charged. Visit www.vbco.org/government0129.asp for more info. A girl on a bike was checking for passes today. ***Update 1/6/2011 - access is now FREE!! Donations still accepted by Friends of Kal-Haven Trail.
From the trailhead in Gobles, Head East. Walk This Way until you get to a resting spot. Along the way, notice Flowering Dogwood, prevalent in this area, it typically blooms in May. I noticed corn fields on the north side, Maybe Hay to the south, some concrete fence posts there as well...??? From the picnic table, go West 65 PACES to a small foot path on the right. There is a clearing immediately to your left. Look for the V tree. Kal-Haven-Gobles Letterbox is at the base of the V tree. Re-hide well, I think Muggles gather here too.....
