Go to Point au Roche State Park. There are two entrances to the park. The first goes to the beach; the second to the interpretive center. Go into this second driveway and park in the parking lot. Maps are available at the building. To get to the beginning of the trail, walk down the dirt road down the hill and past the end of Deep Bay.
You will find a sign labeled "Long Point Deep Bay Trail." Take the trail to the right, the one that goes along the lake. Walk past the boat dock. A short distance down the trail there is a small path that leads off to the right. It is labelled "Parallel Path". Walk along Parallel Path until you come to a beautiful little ampitheater on the side of the hill. (Our church loves to go there for singing services!)
Stand at the podium. You will see three sections of benches. On the right end of the fourth bench of the middle section is a tree. Ditectly behind this tree, in line from the podium, is a tree that is bent like a saddle. The bottom of this tree is hollow. A rock covers the hollow spot. Move the rock. Inside, covered with bark and leaves, you will find what you seek. When you are finished make sure you cover this one really well, as it is a busy spot! Enjoy!
