I decided to name this letterbox Picnic Bee because my family and I went on a picnic here and there were some bees that wanted to taste our sandwiches!! Once the food was put away, they left us alone. Please do not let this stop you from visiting this wonderful place.
Directions:
To Galena Creek Park
From Reno, Take US 395 until it ends. This exit will be Mt. Rose. Once off the exit, you will be on Mt. Rose Hwy(431). Follow this for approx 6 miles. You will see the sign for Galena Creek Park on your right hand side. It will say Galena Creek Park next two rights. You will take the second right which will be the South entrance. Follow the signs to Marylin's Pond. Park in the lot facing the pond. Park hours are 8am-7pm. Your car has to be out of the park by 7pm.
Clues:
From the "rules" sign, take the path to the left up to the seating area. Facing the benches, sit at the bench on the upper right hand corner facing the pond. On the bench, sit closest to the middle. What you seek is behind and below.
