Officially retired 2007 .
Begin your search at Farrel McWhirter Farm in Redmond(use the parking lot just off Novelty Hill Road).
Take the cement path into the farm, stop and enjoy all the animals, and then go back on the path as it leads path the old grain silo(now a bathroom) as it heads into the woods. You will notice many old stumps of trees(nurse logs) from the old logging days.
Take your first trail off to your right and pass over the first bridge.
Continue on until you hit the second bridge. Just over the bridge on the right is a large stump of tree covered with moss. The stump itself is about 7 feet high so you will have to gently climb the stump and reach inside. Be discreet as there are horses and people on the trail at any given time.
If you are not sure if you are at the correct tree stump, look around you. If you see 3 signs marking the trail as well as the wooded 'Oregon Grape' sign, then you are in the right area.
Good Luck.
