SEPT 30, 2006: I have just returned from replacing the letterbox. The labyrinth is 1/3 moved into piles. Watch your step. Sorry, this is a great place when the church is not under construction.
Sept. 23,2006: This letterbox is being temporaily retired. The church is under construcion and the labyrinth is being moved. I will post when it is up again.
A labyrinth is and ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools. As a unicursal (one way in, one way out) path, a labyrinth is showing and teaching togetherness. This differentiates a labyrinth from a maze which has many paths and dead ends leading to confusion. Like life and destiny, a labyrinth may be a long journey, but it has a specific beginning and a definate end.
Clue: Calvin Presbyterian Church
415 East Grandview Ave. (Route 68E)
Zelienople, PA 16063
Zelienople is off Route 79. If you are coming from the south, you will exit on to Rt. 68. Make a left to go into town. If you are coming from the north, at the exit make a right and you will come to route 19. Make a left to go into town.
Park on the east side of the church. Walk in front of the church to the west side and the labyrinth. Take a paper from the box to learn how to use a labyrinth. Most "kids" just like to get to the end.
You will find your prize against the wooden wall. There is a rock leaning against the 2nd 4"x4".
