Fun Animal Series
May 16, 2010
I had to pull this series due to new regulations in the park. I will properly register them and replace when I get the chance. Check back later.

I found a new trail in Green Lane Park, just begging for a series of boxes.
So, here it is….

Enter the park off Rt 29 on Deep Creek Rd. Park in the Perkiomen Trail Parking lot area on the left. Go to the far southern corner. Look for the Equestrian Trail sign. (There are also Orange Trail markers, but I’d ignore this if I were you. It seems every trail in the park is called Orange.)

A short way up the trail it branches, left and right. Go straight.
A bit farther on there is a right hand trail. A stonewall is on your right too.
Follow this stonewall to its very end. There is a Panda Bear hiding there.
Please replace the large stone carefully.

Note: I have had a report that this next box is missing.
If you happen to find it, I would really appreciate a note.
About face, but not all the way to the main trail. Take the trail to the right.
The trail heads downhill slightly and you will be in an area with rather large trees.
Look for a particularly large one on your right with the middle rotting out. At it’s base, behind some bark is an Easter Chick. Please replace the bark well.

Continue on the trail. It gets pretty rocky for a while. Looks like the trail splits, but it comes right back together after 30 feet or so. Another trail comes in from the left. Take the one that is more straight ahead. It still curves left a bit, then downhill. You will now be in a very peaceful section of trail. Cross over a small stonewall. The main trail turns left, but there is a small trail continuing straight (over a small log). Take it.

Cross small stream bed and up the opposite bank. Don’t turn left. Head up the hill. At the top of the hill, see another stonewall on the left side of the trail. On the south side of the wall, about 12-15 feet off the trail is Moosehead.

Continue on the trail which is now heading downhill. See a small stream on your right (weather permitting). A trail comes in from the right, you bear left. Up a short steep hill. Very large stone pile will be on your left. There is a large tree down in front of it. Proceed to said tree and look where its cracked in the middle.
In back, behind the crack, is Mr. Nutty.

Proceed up the hill. At the next trail crossing, turn right to the parking lot.

Please drop me a note with any report updates. Hope you had fun!!
