At the west edge of Brule, turn south off of U. S. Highway 2 on Ranger Road. Follow the signs to the DNR/State Forest Headquarters. Just before you arrive at the headquarters buildings, turn left (east) into the parking area for the trailhead for the Nature Trail.

Walk north on the Stoney Hill Nature Trail. The trail will go almost to the paved road and then turn right. At the trail fork, go right up hill. Look for the interpretive sign “From River of Presidents” on the left side of the trail. From that sign, continue up the trail for about 44 steps to the center of a right hand turn. On the right at your feet is a small low sawed off stump. From that point go at about 210 degrees (from mag. north) for about 38 steps to a tall three-trunk Oak Tree (or continue up the trail for about 20 or so more steps, stop, look to your right and you will see the tall three-trunk Oak Tree). The box is on the west side of the tree under the end of a small log and covered with bark and plant debris.

Please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag). Please rehide the box well under the small log and covered with bark and plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.

I will not be able to check on this box; so, please let me know if you find it. Also, let me know if it needs attention or is missing:
