In National Lampoon’s 1983 hit movie “Vacation”, we ride along as the Griswold family drives cross-country on their way to WallyWorld. En route, they stop at Kamp Komfort in South Fork, Colorado for a night. The next morning, they tie the dog to the car’s bumper while packing up and a tragic scene ensues…
Kamp Komfort was actually filmed at the Riverbend Resort, a few miles south of South Fork on Highway 160. Park in the campground, cross the highway, and walk up the old road to a green gate. Go 12 paces at 104* from north to the box, under a 2 ft. wide rock at the top of the mound.
