Level of Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: Less than 5 minutes per letterbox

Directions:

The Family Tree series was planted at the Fish Creek Cemetery in West Leyden, NY. Take Route 294 out of Boonville (past the high school) towards West Leyden. At the end of Route 294, turn left onto Route 26. At the blinking light turn right onto Osceola Rd. Then take you first right onto Fish Creek Road, passing the elementary school on your left. After you have driven about 5 miles, you will come to a “y” in the road. Veer right and you will see a big white church and cemetery on your right, around the bend.

**The first two boxes are only stamps, so you will need your own ink. The last box is a full box, having a stamp, ink, and a log book.**

Clue:

Box 1 – Grandma

MISSING
My grandmother passed away in March of 2006 of breast cancer. She was a wonderful woman who always had a smile on her face. She lived all over...from Germany to Arizona. She was a homemaker and raised 5 children. She is dearly missed to all who know and loved her.

Enter the cemetery and drive to the end of the paved road. Walk to the Flansburg headstone. Facing the headstone, turn to your right and walk 5 paces to an old stone wall. To your left you will see a medium sized tree. Directly behind the tree, buried under some rocks you will find the Grandma.

Box 2 - Grandpa

My grandfather passes away in April of 2007 also from cancer. He lead a full life, was in the army and then started his own logging company that my uncles now run.

Go 18 paces up the hill with the stone wall on your right. On your right, there is a tree with a large reddish colored rock to the left of it. Behind the rock in a small crevasse where you will find the Grandpa.

Box 3 – Papa

My papa passed away in June of 2005. He was my rock, the one person that I had the biggest and strongest connection with. His nickname for me was Boober and he spoiled me rotten. He fought in WWII, was married for almost 50 years, and raised three boys, while working (at times) three jobs. He will never be forgotten.

With your back to the tree, look out to your left and find a marble headstone with a cross formed on top of it. At this headstone, walk 13 paces towards the church to a black bench. Standing in front of the bench, look at the headstone and behind “Ol' Boober” to find the Papa.

Box 4 – Pippin

My uncle Cecil passed away unexpectedly in July of 2000. He was a small man with a limp due to contracting polio when he was younger. He live in Albany and renovated an old brownstone with a gorgeous garden in the back yard. His life was his garden and his dog Pippin.

From here, go back a row and to your right three headstones to Nellenback's "garden". Facing the front of the headstone, turn to your left and walk to the old stone wall. Go up the hill 13 paces to a 4ish trunked tree. Behind this tree you will find the Pippin hidden in the rocks.

Box 5 – Family Tree

In honor of my family. I love and miss you all!

Walk back down the hill 18 paces to a cluster of trees in the stone wall. At the base of the trees, between the stone wall and the trees, you will find Family Tree.

I hope you enjoyed this series as much as I enjoyed making it. I thought this was a great way for me to show people how much my family means to me. Thank you grandma for all your support and helping me place my Papa letterbox.

****PLEASE RE-HIDE ALL BOXES VERY WELL. They mean a lot to me and I don't want anything to happen to them! Thank you******
