Across the street from the school of highest grades
Is a place where tennis and soccer are played
On the far side of the field you’ll plainly see
An entry to a forest of stately tall trees
Walk up the hill to start your trek
Then take a sharp turn to the left
Twenty-five steps to a tall tree stump,
But it’s not there, so you don’t have to jump
The faint path then goes to the right, through a small grassy clearing
And then down a small hill – no fear, it’s not wearying
You’ll pass lots of trees fallen down on the left
Not there either - they’re too big to heft
From there take one hundred steps straight ahead
You’ll see a twisted cedar with an aspen that’s dead
Keep going and you’ll see two big rocks on the side
Of another clearing that’s really quite big and quite wide.
Five steps due south of the southern-most rock
Will put you very close, so run and don’t walk!
Sit down on the wooden stump of a chair
Look around – see that big log right next to you there?
Under the outer curved part of the log
Is the box so get low – pretend you’re a frog!
Please replace and re-hide it with care
I want to be sure it stays hidden right there.
Marker colors: brown & green
