JULY 2007: This box has been confirmed missing. I will try to recarve and replant soon. I will be in the area twice before mid August, so odds are good it will be done soon!

-------

There is a wonderful park in Rhinelander that my kids call The Train Park. It has a ball field, some great playground equipment for kids, wonderful tall red pines, and is home to a logging and train museum. Take the time to visit it all while you’re there!

To find the box, start at the NE corner of the split-rail fenced tree nursery in the park. On a bearing of 65°, take ~60 steps to the large stump.

From the stump, walk 35 steps to the red pine at 150°.

From that red pine, walk 41 steps towards the maple at 130°.

Directly behind that maple is a cherry tree with beautiful, typical cherry bark, on the steep slope. At the base of the cherry, on the downside of the slope, is a hidden nook amid the roots. The box is within the nook. Please replace it carefully and hide it well, as people do use the adjacent path for fishing the river.

Marker colors: red, orange, yellow and green.
