A Weekend Away ..is back up as of 10/27/07!! ty TrailTroll

This letterbox is located in Holly Recreation Area Camp Ground. This Letterbox is at a campsite that you can rent for the weekend. There is more information on the campground and how to make reservations online at www.michigan.gov/dnr. You have to figure out the clues to get the site number and once you are there these other clues will make sense. If you want you can email me before you make the reservation to make sure you have the right site. The sites do fill up, so be sure to reserve it! The camp grounds are open from April 1st to Navember 1st.

This Letterbox is tribute to a girl’s weekend out! My best friend and I love to camp and try to get away each year to do so. I hope you find your experience as relaxing and enjoyable as we did!!

Site Number Clues:

16 = a² – 9

(6 x a)a = y –1

site # = y
Find what a equals then plug it into the second equation to find y.
I know, Math, yuck but sometimes you have to do a little work to have a little fun!

Clues at Site:
Before you start you might want to wait till dark or dusk. Most people are more concerned with building their own fire at that time than looking over at your site wondering why you are rummaging around in the woods. I would suggest you are "looking for kindling to start your fire" (wink, wink, nod, nod, say no more).

Ok, now you are here! Start at the site post address. Walk 40° to your s'more cooker. Then walk 7 paces to the three-pronged natural shelter. From the western most prong take a compass reading of 230º and walk 15 paces in that direction. Under some primitive bashing instruments (mostly used if you forgot a hammer to pound the tent stakes in with) you will find what you seek. If you can hide it better than I did that would be great!! Have a good weekend! I will not be able to visit this box often. If you would be so kind to email me of your find and bring an extra baggie for maintenance it would be appreciated. There is no pen in the box either, sorry. Thank YOU!
