Big Hollow Rd., Maplecrest, NY
Short find, but some rocky/slippery areas, so be careful.
Follow Big Hollow Road for what seems like a long time but is really only 4 miles. (Once the road turns to gravel, you are almost there.) When you see a trail parking area on your left, pull over and stop. Cross the footbridge, and follow the trail to your right back across the stream. Follow the red marked foot trail a short distance until you see a large tree with a yellow “Camping Prohibited” sign on your right. From this sign, take a bearing of 130 degrees and work your way about 30 steps through the trees to a large rock. The Big Hollow Hiker is hidden under the rock behind a few smooth rocks.
