To celebrate the Feast of Lanterns, an annual event in Pacific Grove, we hid a handmade stamp & letterbox overlooking the beach at Lover's Point where the historic Feast of Lanterns pagent will take place Saturday, July 29, 2006. Go to www.feastoflanterns.com for event information.
To find this letterbox, take HWY1 to Pacific Grove exit where HWY1 intersects HWY68. Wind over 68 into Pacific Grove. HWY68 turns into Forest Ave. at about 2.7 miles. Come down Forest Ave. into and through Pacific Grove, at 4.1 miles you will be at the bottom of Forest Ave. and at the ocean. Park at Lover's Point. Take the walking trail toward Monterey. At the corner of Oceanview & Fountain, you will see the Seven Gables Inn on your right and a large tree on your left near a bench with the inscription "In Loving Memory of Jim & Betty Kenyon".
