Starting at Pelham Center in front of the fire department, head south on Bridge Street.
-at .1 odometer reading you'll see the town hall annex on your left
-at .2 the old cemetery on your right
-at .5 you'll cross a granite bridge and join route 38
Head south on route 38.
- at 1 mile you'll have McDonalds on your right
- at 1.7 you will see Hammar & Sons Sign Company on your right - - - PARK HERE. (Highway 38 is a very busy road so I do not advise parking on it.) From the parking lot of Hammar & Sons walk across Hwy 38 and head south on the small trail which is the old road bed. You will follow the highway. The trail leads right to Pulpit Rock. It will be on your left and the hwy is on your right. It is a very short walk.
Read the plaque placed by the Women's Club in 1938. Pioneers stopped here for the Sabbath on their way north.
NOW - find the biggest OAK tree. With your back toward the road and against the tree notice right in front of you two rocks which sit on the ground making the shape of an upside down 'V' as they come together. In the back of the 'V' hidden under a rock is the letterbox. (There is NO climbing involved in finding this box. It is on the ground.)
* from Dracut Mass. Pulpit Rock is .8 miles north from the border.
* from McDonalds in Pelham Pulpit Rock is .8 miles south.
