Start your search at the site where Laurier gave his most famous speech on January 18, 1904. Once home to the Canadian Club, it now houses the Varette building.
At this site, ask the locals where you might find a deer or a stag.
This vain stag is so busy staring at its own reflection that it has failed to notice the poised hunter.
Follow the aim of the hunter beyond the stag, to the nearest street, and head East, past the clock of the Ottawa Electrical Building. Once you've reached the end of the road, head for the square where three streets intersect: the first named after an Irish-born British soldier, the second after the lord who oversaw China's Second Opium War, and the third for a simple farmer who happened to like shortcuts through the woods.
Pay your respects, then look roughly SSE for AHG, who gave McGill University his "most proud possession". Greet him, or shine his boots, then take 7 paces back toward where you came from.
Look for your prize between cement and blade.
