This formerly missing letterbox has been replaced as of November 13, 2007 with these new clues:

Directions - From I 87 (the Northway) take Exit 4 (Albany International Airport). At the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp turn left. At the next traffic light turn east (away from the airport) onto Albany-Shaker Road (County Route 151). Follow this road about ½ mile to a traffic light. Turn right into “The Crossings of Colonie”. Park in the first parking lot on the right. This is a lovely 130 acre park with multiuse paved trails that are conducive to bicycle riding if you prefer that mode of transportation. It is a very well-used park, so keep a close eye out for “muggles”.

Clues - After you’ve parked in the first lot on the right, walk toward “The Arboretum”. At the sundial turn left on the paved path, and then bear right following the path along the right side of the pond. At the end of the pond continue straight. You may want to take time to walk through the Hoffman Family Maze, which you’ll see on the right side of the path. Continue straight along the same path. At the crest of the hill follow the unpaved path that goes left into the woods (directly opposite the right turn into “The Ramble”). When the unpaved path forks left, take it. Continue a short ways until you see a clump of small white birches to the left of the path. Standing next to the birches, take a compass reading of 180° (directly south). Walk in that direction about 20 double-stepped paces to a large oak tree. You’ll find what you’re searching for at the foot of the oak under rocks and duff. Once you find the lettterbox, if you prefer a bench for stamping you can return to the paved path where you'll see a nearby park bench. Again, beware of the many “muggles” in this park. Please rehide very carefully. Thanks!!
