This fish lives in the "Trout Capital" of the U.S. His kind are still caught in the river of Idaho.
Directions:
Traveling from eastern Idaho on interstate 84, take Twinfalls exit 173. Travel south into Twinfalls. go on blue lakes blvd. to addison ave., first 5 points intersection. Turn right on addison. This turns to highway 30. take all the way in to Buhl. you will pass through Filer before Buhl.

Traveling from western Idaho on interstate 84, take exit 141. Follow signs to Hagerman/Buhl on highway 30.You will go through Hagerman before Buhl.
Stay on Highway 30.
At east end of town you will come to stoplight and road called Clear lakes. Take Clearlakes road north for about 10 miles or so. crossing the snake river.take first road to left after crossing bridge. travel about 1/2 mile to ClearSprings visitors center and home of prehistoric fish.
park in parking lot. walk back under the road to the pond. there is a viewing area to see these fish in their natural state. you can also see them from above.

take the path along the pond to where the water fills the pond. follow this waters path to come to a juniper tree at the side of this trail. just past the tree is a round smooth stone. under the stone is the home of the fish.
please rehide well. and this is snake country so be aware.
