*** Received notice in May 2009 that the box is wet inside and could use a new logbook. ***

This letterbox is at the Five Lakes Rest Area on I-69 Eastbound (Mile Marker 161)

Find the flagpoles and stand in front of a sign dedicated to PFC Dewayne T. Williams.
Slightly ahead and to your left is a paved walkway leading to a picnic area.
Follow the walkway.
Pass a picnic table.
You will come to a grill (on your left) that is set in the middle of a concrete square.
Stand at the grill so that the edge of the wooded area is on your left and the walkway is on your right.
Look down at the concrete square and find the corner on your left.
Follow your line of vision from this corner into the wooded area to three tree trunks growing together.
Walk toward these trunks.
At the edge of the wooded area, take four steps to put you in alignment with the three trunks.
A large rock will be slightly ahead of you to your left.
Take two more steps so that your back is to the three trunks.
Eleven steps forward will bring you to another set of three trunks (two wide trunks forming a V-shape and a single slender trunk growing towards you).
These trunks form a cavity in the center.
The Michigan State Fruit is hiding under bark in the cavity.

Bring your own ink pad and pen.
Please rehide well.
