Highway 50 running through Nevada is known as the "Loneliest Highway in America" and except for the millions of grasshoppers that were everywhere in this area (yucky!) it was a very quiet day that we passed through. There is a large tree in the middle of nowhere that is a shoe tree. It has hundreds of pairs of boots, tennis shoes, flip flops, heels, etc... all tossed up in its branches. Very odd. So if you come by this way, don't forget to bring some old shoes for the tossing and your boxing stuff for the stamping!

Difficulty: Drive-by

The closest town is Fallon, Nevada, and it is about 45 miles to the West. The tree is located on hwy. 50 between the intersections of hwy. 50 & 722 and hwys. 50 & 361. There are not many trees out here, so it is easier to find than it sounds.

Standing in front of the tree up in the parking area, walk @ 250* for about 30 steps. There is a small gate and wire fence in front of you. Go to the southern end of this fence (to the left). Buried behind the corner post under sand and sticks is your prize.

Handmade stamp & journal, but no FF.
