This letterbox has a hand made stamp, but bring your own stamp pad.

This box is hidden at the rest area on Interstate 80 Westbound, mile 300. This rest area is conveniently located between two exits that allow you to get to the rest stop, and go on your way when you’re through, by going only a couple miles out of your way to turn around. The décor of this rest stop is a wonderful tribute to The Mighty Mississippi and how it defines this area.

All the clues you need are inside the rest stop building. There’s even a compass on the floor, so you won’t need your own. Fill in a few blanks and the letterbox will be easy to find.

Find the tile on the wall with the paddle wheel boat and remember its design.

From the information all around you, fill in the blanks:

“Water from ________ (a) states drains into the Mississippi River - _________% (b) of the United States. (Subtract b – a = ________ (c))

What’s unique about the Mississippi River in this area? The direction it flows is __________ (d) and ______. (Write these two words in alphabetical order.)

Exit the building by the (d) door. Face north and count the paddle wheel boat tiles around the outside of the building. The letterbox is hiding under the (c) paddle boat.
