This box is placed in honor of the McAlester Italian Festival held each year during Memorial Day weekend.
However we placed it a little far south but in one of our favorite regions of the state.

The Italian Festival of McAlester, Oklahoma (USA), has been one of the finest annual events in Oklahoma since its inception in 1971. Held on Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, the Festival draws thousands of visitors to the fairgrounds of the Pittsburg County Expo Center for the two-day event. Join the many thousands who enjoy delicious Italian Food in the Food Tent and the Sandwich Tent, a variety of other foods from dozens of concessionaires, live entertainment for all ages, shopping among the hundreds of vendors, craft show booths and fine arts booths.

To find this box begin at the Lakeview lodge area of Hochatown State Park. Just about 12 miles from Broken Bow, OK.

Take the Lakeview Lodge Trail loop 1 and look for the "Sounds of the Southwest” box, part of the "Broken Bow Reservoir Letterboxes" hidden by the Happy Days.

After you find this box continue on the loop. When you come to a choice in the trail turn right. At this point you'll be walking back towards the lodge. You'll be walking parallel to another trail.

On the uphill side just off the trail you'll see a tree with a white rock in front of it. From this tree find a tree at aprox.130 degrees with a smaller tree beside it. You'll find the box behind with several rocks on top.
