**Alive and well as of June 9, 2007**

This Letterbox is on the east side of the Genesee River on the Genesee River Trail.
Genesee River Trail Map:
http://www.footprintpress.com/Rochester/mapgeneseeriverdowntown.htm
Parking is available on the University of Rochester campus (metered parking).

Starting point: the east side of the footbridge (bicycles also welcome) spanning the Genesee River between the Ford St. Bridge (north) and the Elmwood Avenue Bridge (south).
Walk/bike south on the the Genesee River Trail.
A sandbar will appear on your right.
During high water, you will only see evidence of a sandbar (stranded trees).
A concrete retaining wall will begin on your left.
The right side of the trail will be lined with large reddish rocks.
Go to the end of the rocks.
Turn around, backtrack, and assign each rock a letter for U-R-B-A-N-L-E-T-T-E-R-B-O-X-E-R.
On the north side of the last “R” you will see a grey stone.
Move the stone.
Welcome to the Sand Bar!
