Dog Friendly
Kid Friendly
Located in Spencers Butte Park
To Get there:
Go south on Willamette to Spencers Butte Park on the left. You want the main entrance.
To the box:
Take the trail on the north end of the parking lot. You can't miss it because it is very well marked.
Walk the trail and enjoy the lush greenery and varity of birds. Keep to the main trail hurdling many fallen giants.
Soon you will come to a very tall double "Y" on the left, surrounded by a small field of ferns on the right. Sit in the first "Y" and listen to all the nature sounds. When we planted this it was raining and birds were singing so sweetly. If you sit there long enough you may see a few fairies.
If you are sitting in the "Y" with your back to the trail you will see a rotted stump just in front of you.
Search the stump and you will find your prize under bark and moss.
Once you have stamped in and are ready to move on... we suggest going back the way you came and hiking the main trail to the top. You can continue on the trail that the box is on but it dwindles then disappears completely, plus you may feel like you are in someones back yard.
Hope you enjoy this beautiful place.
Happy Hunting!
