I have confirmed that Flying Kitty is lost and no longer flying. I have not decided if I am going to replace the box with a new stamp. Stay tuned... Thanks 4/18/2008

Flying Kitty is Flying again. Box back in place April 22, 2006. THANKS

The “Flying Kitty” letterbox is located in Monroe county New York and is the third box placed as part of the “9 Lives Traveling Series”. This is a very quick find box but do take some time to enjoy the area.

· Traveling on Rt 441 East into the “four corners” of Penfield NY.
· Turn Right onto Five Mile Line Rd out of Penfield. Continue on through the STOP light at Five Mile Line Rd and Linden Ave. The road changes names at this point and becomes Whitney Rd.
· A stones throw past the intersection is my favorite fishing area. Some call it a spring. Some call it a lake. But it is actually part of Irondequoit Creek.
· Turn into the park and follow the road to the parking lot. If you park facing NW, you will see the park and the creek directly in front of you.
· Cross over the street into the park
· Why not sit down for a few minutes on the ski lift type swing and enjoy the quietness of the park and the softly flowing creek.
· While your sitting there, take a look around the park. You will see some very large trees.
· Looking North (keep the creek to your left) you will spot a large tree that splits into two trunks about 6 feet off the ground. Be careful in choosing your tree because there is another large trunked tree very close and from some angles this could appear as a third trunk to the tree.
· You want to check this tree out closer. Check around the tree for a good letterbox hiding place.
· From the North side of the tree check a little higher. Find the crotch of the two trucks and check carefully. You should see some new growth on the tree. Move it aside being careful not to kill it.
· Still can’t find it? Move the vertically placed bark and it should now come into view.
· Congratulations you have now found the third box placed from my “9 Lives Traveling Series”.
· Please close the letterbox securely and replace it in the same spot you found it being very careful that the bark is placed so the box is not visible to anyone just passing by and it will not be found accidentally.

Note: You will need to bring your own stamp pad and pen
