The "Safari Man- On The Highway/ and Interstate" series depicts things one might see as they drive the highways of the U.S. These are targeted mainly for rest stops but might pop up anywhere. This letterbox is titled OKLAHOMA REST STOP. Happy traveling!

Clues: Traveling south on the Indian Nation Turnpike start watching for the rest stop at the 83 mile marker. As soon as you pass over the South Canadian River bridge be ready to pull off into the rest stop. Continue on the road in the rest stop, passing a fine vintage Oklahoma rest stop rest room and continue on to the last picnic table and park. Go to the far end of the picnic table and start counting steps as you go around the evergreen tree clockwise. When you get to 14 steps gently spread the limbs of the evergreen and peer into the tree about 6 feet above the ground. You should be able to locate the OKLAHOMA REST STOP letter pouch attached to one of the interior limbs. Unwind the wire from the limb and take the pouch to the picnic table to do the stamping. (I hope it is not in use before you arrive). When done stamping please reseal the baggie zippers securely and return the pouch to where you found it. If you have time I would certainly appreciate a report on the condition of the letterbox by using the contact the placer function at the top of this clue page. Have a good trip. Safari Man
