Originally planted by PCLG. Adopted with permission.
Update: 11/18/19: I've made a slight clue update which is shown in bold below. There's also a 'note' at the end.
----------
Hike: Moderate. 20-30 minute hike from parking lot to box.
Terrain: Hills and narrow trails. One trail is frequently muddy after rain and may involve walking through some tall grass in one area - during Summer.
----------
Clue:
After they crossed, everything changed....
......
Start at the interpretive center with the big butterfly.
Go counterclockwise. Follow the red trail.
Make a right onto white. Cross a bridge. Follow the first sign to "wildlife." Then, ignore the third sign.
Make a right onto the wider horse trail. At the next intersection, make a left. Go approximately 80 - 85 steps along the tree line until you see a small opening on your right. Walk through the opening. If you look under a pile of field stones covered by forest debris, behind the tree on the right, you can get the signature you're looking for.
Note: The number steps can vary depending on your height and stride so if you're shorter than 6' add a few steps and if you're taller subtract a few steps.
