This letterbox is a memorial to my first child, lost due to a choice I made fourteen years ago. It is not a political statement, but the outpouring of a mother's heart. If you're interested in the story, e-mail me and I'll point you to my website.

Start at the Wahkeena Falls trailhead on the Old Columbia Gorge Highway. Climb up, past Fairy Falls (where there is a really cute letterbox). At the junction with trail 419, keep to your right. At the next trail junction, turn right on to trail 415 (following the Wahkeena Springs sign carved into a boulder). Just before the creek, take a small trail to the right.
Pass through the first clearing into the second, keeping the water on your left. Look for a large standing snag on your right. Adriel's box lies nearby, at the foot of a very large, leaning birch with a twisted trunk, under some moss and small rocks.
