This box is located in the Golden Garden Park in West Eugene. Please Bring a picnic. It is a beautiful spot with LOTS of wildlife. We saw ducklings, turtles, geese herons, fish, and many many other kinds of birds.
To Get There:
Driving West on Barger Road turn right on Golden Garden. Follow till it dead ends and turn left on Jessen (the only way you can go unless you make a U-turn). Park on the right side of the street. There are 3 entrances to the park, you want the middle one.
To The Box:
Go through the entrance and follow the gravel trail. It will go up and down a few times and eventually you will come to a single file foot bridge. There were a lot of ducklings here when we planted this box so bring some bread if you enjoy feeding them.
After the bridge follow the trail to the right(it will be the MAJOR trail).
Enjoy the birds and scenery, soon you will come to some picnic tables. You are looking for the table that is placed between a tree and a blue garbage can. (If for some reason the garbage can is moved, you want the 2nd picnic table)
This is an excellent spot for a picnic and if you sneek down to the water you might see some turtles sunning themselves on the logs in the water.
When you are ready for the box look at the North east side of the tree next to the picnic table. There under a small log is Jewel Maker.
This was an early carving of ours that we are finally planting! Hope you like it.
Oh and by the way.... there is a little prize for the first to find this box.
