Very short easy hike almost a drive by
This box is a tribute to one of our favorite directors Tim Burton. Our neighbors had a gorgeous tree that resembled those in all of Tim Burton's films. So we had to carve it. Sadly it was chopped down :(
Location: Spencers Butte Park
To get there:
Drive south on Willamette until you reach Spencers Butte Park on the left. You want the main parking lot.
To the Box:
Once parked... take the stairs to the Signboard /Map. From the map take the trail to the right. Soon you will come to a "Y" make the right side. Very shortly after you will reach yet another "Y" Right again make sure the picnic area is on your left. This spot is so beautiful in the summer make sure to bring a picnic. As you walk this small trail you will see a "V" tree with a rock leaning against the right side of the "V". Between the rock and the tree is your prize but please be sure to retrieve it from the right side as it is hidden from the path.
This is a heavily populated hiking area so PLEASE be discreet. Once you have stamped in please continue on the trail till you reach the top of the butte. The view is spectacular and well worth the hike.
*** We will be placing more boxes in the area, especially near the top, so keep an eye out :)
