We placed this LetterBox on one of our favorite hikes.
Directions: On Route 77 in North Guilford just north of Lake Quonnipaug. Park in the Bluff Head Trail parking area.
Hike: From the parking area you can choose to go straight up the mountain on the blue rectangle trail or follow the blue rectangle with a dot trail behind the cemetery for a more moderate climb. If you choose to go straight up be careful of loose rocks.
Once you reach the spot where the two trails merge continue to follow the ridge trail to another steep climb. After this find the first lookout where you can see the Hartford skyline. Follow the trail past this lookout about 120 feet you will see a 3 foot tall tree stump prior to the trail taking a steep descent. Turn left at this stump past the split rock. Walk about 50 feet past the rock and you will see a fallen tree in the mossy glen. Hunt inside the tree for the box.
