You need to locate the stretch of RT 68 which runs from Ogdensburg to Canton. Follow the signs to a turn off for Rensselaer Falls. The Indian Creek Nature Center is located 3.4 miles off RT 68, on the left side of the road. There is no sign, but the frame is there and there is a posting for the hours. Drive into this area until you reach the main parking area and leave your car here.
DON’T FORGET TO SIGN IN! This area is partially funded by the amount of use it gets, and is in need of some repair!
From the map, follow the path toward the “Observation Deck”. This path is muddy in the spring, so be prepared for some mucky walking in areas. Follow the blue trail markers until the trail splits. Stay to the left, and follow it until you get to the tower itself. Ascend the Tower and take in the sights. It’s not very high, but pretty nonetheless. Continue to follow this trail until it comes to a shelter area on your left.
About 100 feet from this shelter on your left hand side you’ll see two trees with many trunks. They are very noticeable as they look like “pillars”. Stand between them, and turn back to the path. In the “pillar” to your left is the box, located among the trunks.
Remember that there is another box in this area. “TAURUS” is only a mile from here ;)
