You need to locate the stretch of RT 68 which runs from Ogdensburg to Canton. Follow the signs to a turn off for Rensselaer Falls. The Indian Creek Nature Center is located 3.4 miles off RT 68, on the left side of the road. There is no sign, but the frame is there and there is a posting for the hours. Drive into this area until you reach the main parking area and leave your car here.

DON’T FORGET TO SIGN IN! This area is partially funded by the amount of use it gets, and is in need of some repair!

From the map, head toward the Marsh Deck via the “Lowland trail”. Part of this trail is a Wooden boardwalk that runs parallel to some wetland areas. In the summer months there are informational plaques to tell you about the natural flora and fauna of this area. Stay to the right of the trail head to get to this area. Once you pass over the boardwalk, the trail again will split. You want to follow the trail to the left and follow the blue trail markers.

Head into the woods, and take in all the nature around you. You may want to bring along some binoculars if you are an avid bird watcher. You will come to a wooden fence on your left, just past a small wooden “bridge”. On your right hand side, you’ll notice an old rock wall. The path goes between two boulders. Locate the next blue marker, on a small tree to the right. Stand with this maker to your left shoulder and look toward the wall. Walk about 18 paces to the wall. Between two trees, “X” marks the spot in front of your prize. Be careful to put the rock back in its place.

Once you locate this box, you can either turn around and head back the way you came OR just stay on the trail and it will loop back to where you picked it up, just before the boardwalk back.

Remember that there is another box in this area. “GEMINI” is only a mile from here ;)
