******MISSING****** March 6th 2011. Discovered this morning that this box is missing. Will try to replace this spring. Bay Walker.

This box is hidden in Juanita Bay Park, which is located in Kirkland, WA. This park, which used to be a golf course, is home to many birds including the Blue Heron. Be sure to bring your binoculars. Park in the lot and go to the information kiosk. If you look around at the back of the kiosk you can see the wildlife that has been sighted in the past month. Walk along the paved path, past the restrooms. Wind down the hill and take a sharp left when the path divides into three directions. Follow this path to the edge of the park, keeping to your left. (Note the path to your right which goes out to a boardwalk where I have seen nearly 100 sunbathing turtles on a summer afternoon.) Remain on the path to the left and continue walking JUST until you see the path make a Y. Stop as soon as you see the Y and look to your left. You should be looking through the middle of two clusters of trees (110 degrees East). Walk to the picnic table across the grass. Facing the table, have a seat on the SW edge of the picnic bench. Look to your right and see two large Maple trees. Look to your left and see two more large Maple trees that are closer to you and closer to each other. Look in front of you and see a clearing under yet another Maple tree. Walk toward the clearing 10 steps from the NE corner of the paved picnic area. Look left and see a small trail. Walk 10 steps at 50 degrees NE on the trail. Look left. The Blue Heron Letterbox is hidden in a hollow within this group of trees.
