*** 9/1/06: The box has been reported vandalized for the second time. I will not be replanting. If you have kids and are in the area, this is a fun park to visit, but apparently it was just not meant to have a letterbox.***

***Re-planted on 7/15/06 in a different hiding spot. Please be discreet and re-hide well so that it doesn't go missing again.***

The griffin has made her lair in a park that shares her name (which lies on a street that shares it also).

When you pull into this park, you will notice a large rock pile. Walk around to the playground, and scale the rock pile from this side. Please be very careful climbing on the rocks. On the western end of the highest point, look down the western side. You should see a narrow ledge with some plants growing on it about 2 feet down. About 3 more feet down from these plants is a cleft dividing two rocks. Beside this cleft, under the rock on the left, is a dark crevice. This is where you will find the griffin. Make sure to wiggle a stick around to check for any (non-griffin) critters before reaching your hand in.

Be careful of the griffin-- she seems rather on edge, almost as if she's guarding something....
