Simmons Mill Pond Management Area is located in Little Compton, RI. This 400-acre wild life preserve has ponds and hiking trails. Hunting and fishing in season are allowed. No motorized vehicles are allowed. There are parking lots for Simmons Mill Pond on both Colebrook Road and John Dyer Road. Our letterboxes have been placed using the John Dyer Road parking lot as a starting point.

CHARLIE Letterbox Clue
From the John Dyer Road parking lot of Simmons Mill Pond, head towards the woods on the path and cross over the stream. If there has been a lot of rain, you might have problems crossing the stream using the "stepping stone bridge". Usually, it isn't a problem. Stay on the main path that veers to the right. You will walk through an opening in the stone wall. Soon, you'll see a rock on your left that looks like it has a cave opening. Behind that rock you'll find the CHARLIE letterbox. Box number one of three.

MOLLY Letterbox Clues
Continue along the same path. Go through the second stone wall opening and turn left. Stay straight on this path. You will cross a bridge with a pond on either side. Proceed straight on this path until you get to the second pond. Turn right and go up the pond embankment about 14 paces. The MOLLY letterbox (box number two of three) will be hidden on your right between a tree with two trunks and a rock.

MURPHY Letterbox Clues
Turn around and head back in the direction you came from. You will once again cross over the bridge. When you get to the location where three paths intersect, go left. Continue on this path and go through two openings in stone walls. Soon aftewards, you will reach an intersection of four paths where you will be surrounded by stone walls. Directly in front of you to the right you will see a large tree with three signs (orange, yellow and white) posted on it. The MURPHY letterbox (box number three of three) is located in the stone wall located directly across the path, approximately four paces away from the tree.

To return, reverse your direction and continue down the path. When you get to the intersection of three paths, turn left walking through the opening in the stone wall. This path will lead you back to the stream and the parking lot.

Enjoy your hike. There is so much more to Simmons Mill than where these letterboxes have taken you. Take the time to explore this place. Our family loves it.
