The ‘ACORNS’ letterbox is located in Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area but the beginning location is cryptic! Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area is located in Blue Springs, Missouri. From I-70, go north on Highway 7 for approximately one and half miles and turn left at NW Park Road.

Bring bug spray and watch out for poison ivy. Happy hunting!

SOYYUAXO ZXKK ZXGOR, RUIGZOTM TKDZ ZU ZNK TGZAXK IKTZKX.

To figure what the starting location is to use the key shift word cipher. The keyword is the name of this letterbox. Count the total number of the letters of the keyword; use that number to figure out the placement shift in the alphabet.

For Example:
A equals to G
B equals to H
C equals to I
And so on… (Hint: the first letter of the cryptic is “M”)

Once you have placed the starting point, stay on that trail until you reach a “Y” intersection. At the “Y”, take right. Continue on the trail until you see a bench on the right side of the trail. Remain on that trail which faces west, walk at the paces of 10 (two steps equals a pace). On your right, there is a wood-chipped trail, take right and continue North at 23 paces. You will see a crossroad of a wood-chipped trail and a grass-covered dirt road. Go west and walk along the edge of the prairie. Continue until you reach a small patch of forest. Continue and walk at approximately 12 paces facing west then head at bearing of ten degrees North at 26 paces. You will reach the “trio of guardians;” from there continue at True North at 360 degrees at 19 paces. You will see a standing hollow tree that is about ready to topple over. ‘ACORNS’ is hiding behind that tree. Be sure to notice an interesting wood pile-up that looks like a shack just behind it.

Please be discrete, Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area received many visitors every year. Please return the letterbox as you find it. Let me know how the ‘ACORNS’ is doing.
