Charleville is a comfortable day’s drive on fully sealed roads from Brisbane, or a short plane trip or an overnight on the train will bring you to this thriving rural metropolis in “Outback Queensland”.

Some folk here wear Akubras, but if you are into something more chic, visit Charleville at Melbourne Cup time. Join the crowds at the Racecourse Complex for a day of wining and dining, and the latest in fashion including a hat extravaganza to remember. The Racecourse Complex itself is a great, modern venue capable of hosting a wide range of events. You would be hard pressed to find such a versatile venue anywhere else.

Accommodation facilities are of the same standard and are well maintained as well as competently staffed. Browse through: www.charlevilletourism.com for more info on these. The local pubs, clubs and restaurants are superb and offer choices for all. They provide the same services as in the city, and others, which are unique to Charleville, all in the friendliest of ways.

The Charleville Polocrosse Grounds are 3km east of the township, and provide plenty of space to camp with your horses. The grounds are well set-up, with yards, water, showers and toilets available.

To find this letterbox, you must first find a sign within the polocrosse grounds that faces
the highway. This is an advertising sign for a welding business. Once you have located this sign, look under some debris at the foot of the nearest tree. There is your letterbox!
