****THIS BOX HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY PULLED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION WITHIN INCHES OF THE BOX****

On a windy day in January of 2006, while walking near the location of this box, a large snake skin was spotted wedged under a rock. Upon moving the rock a bit to get a better look, the wind picked up the snake skin and lodged it in the top branch of a tree by the pond. Imagine the next person who might come along and see a large snake skin fluttering in the top of a tree as though the creature had lost it as it soared out over the pond.

To find the box:

Traveling along 75th Street between Valmont and Jay, find the Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat. From there, go to Wally Toevs pond and park there. It will be the first pond in a series of ponds with wonderful trails to follow and explore.

Follow the path around to the NW end of the pond. You will find many big cement tubes. There is a small path that will pass a green electrical box. Follow that path to the first wooden telephone pole to the right of the greenish brown fence. At the base of the telephone pole, you will see a small pile of rocks--and a possible snake hole. Look under the small pile of rocks and there is the box. There is a bench by the pond, not far from the box. Please rehide well.

This area can be quite buggy in the summer. Also watch out for anthills and goose droppings! In the winter, if it's snowy, the big landmarks will guide you.
