About the Area:
Pisgah State Park includes over 13,500 acres of rough forested terrain, encompassing a complete watershed north of the Ashuelot River. Within the Cheshire County towns of Winchester, Chesterfield and Hinsdale, the park protects seven ponds (popular for fishing), four highland ridges and numerous wetlands. The area's 21 square miles make it the largest property in the New Hampshire state park system.

Pisgah State Park is open year-round and is free to the public.

Warnings:
It can get really buggy like the rest New England. When my friend runs the 50K in the fall there has been a few years he has encountered ground bees.

The easiest way to the letter box is by parking at Kilburn Loop/road parking area on route 63. The letter box is located on Pisgah Ridge Trail.

The Clues:
Find your way to Pisgah Ridge Trail. There are four vistas on this trail; you will be looking for the Pisgah Mountain Vista. All four are marked on the map (but not labeled) and local boy scouts have put up kiosks at each vista so you know where you are.

The way we took to Pisgah Mountain Vista: we parked at the Kilburn road/Loop parking area off of route 63, took Kilburn road trail to Pisgah Ridge trail, (don’t take Kilburn loop trail, unless you have a lot of time to kill, like 3 to 5 hours, just go strait to Pisgah Ridge trail) once at the T junction of Kilburn and Pisgah Ridge we turned right. The first vista you come to is Pisgah Mountain Vista. It has views off both sides of the mountain.

To find the box go to the view to the east towards Mount Monadnock. Look to your left a little down slope to a large pine. Go down to the pine and look behind a log on the left. Under the leaves and a stone should be what you seek.

Hope you enjoyed your hike,
Re-Hide The Box Well !! :)
