It takes about 25-20 minutes to reach the letterbox and it is a beautiful hike with veiws of both the bay to the east and the hills to the west. Lots of beautiful wildflowers this time of year.

To Get to the Edgewood Park Entrance:
Take Canada Road (off of Woodside Road) down to the 280 north entrance ramp, but do not actually get on the freeway. You will see a power plant and a little dirt shoulder where you may park.

Enter the park on the trail called CLARKIA. It is on the right side of the road. Follow this trail for a ways, until you reach the trail sign for the Serpintine Loop. Take the right fork of this trail and follow it until you reach the Live Oak Trail. Follow the the trail until you can see the western hills. Then, take a detour, sharply to the left on an unnamed trail to the top of a knoll. Sit on the bench and enjoy the veiw, then look to your left. What you seek is behind the tree.

"...many great walks fueled by good conversation and warm laughter."
