Ghost #3: St Elmo. St Elmo looks like the kind of ghost town you imagine. Originally called Forest City in 1879, the name was changed because of a popular novel at the time.
Terrain: Easy
Clues: Hardish
Clues:
I was having a burger at the Turning Grille when I noticed a tourist flyer on the table. It said,
"See historic St Elmo!
How to get there:
KVMZOMHFGV
UHBGWWMVGW
TLVIZVVVIV
IHMWLUWXLL
UPIOGHVLYB
MTBUUWRHVM
RRMGTXRRMV
ZGZMDEWVOX
LVZGHYWRGG
IMDVHVKVLH"
Puzzled, I took it to the owner. "I can't read this," I told her, but she only smiled and handed me a pottery shard (see picture at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RMLetterboxing/files). "Anasazi?" I asked her. "No," she said, "Anagram Sazi." "Huh?" I asked. But she was walking away. "It works either way," I heard her call. I looked at the pottery shard and thought of her words. "Oh, I get it," I thought, and headed out to find St Elmo.
Notes:
