The Official state colors of Oklahoma were designated to be GREEN and WHITE in 1915. I've been unable to find any reason for this choice. This box is one of a series of Oklahoma State Symbols that we are planting leading up to and in honor of Oklahoma's 100th birthday coming up in 2007!

Clues:

Take Exit 269 on the Will Rogers Turnpike (I-44) and go east on state highway 28 through Adair, Pensacola and Langley. Cross the Pensacola Dam to Disney. Immediately after crossing the dam, on your left will be the Lakeside camping area of the Cherokee State Park.

Pull into the park and drive ONE WAY and park by the restrooms. Just west of the restrooms you'll find #6. If someone is having a picnic, you'll have to wait. If not, walk downhill from #6 a few feet and you'll see the lone everGREEN on this shore area. Beneath it there are three stones, and beneath the smallest you'll find the state colors - GREEN and WHITE!

Happy Questing!
