This box is located in Galveston State park. After paying the entry fee, go back across the highway to the other side of the park. Drive down the Park Road and take the first left. Take this road until you see a small parking area on the right and a sign that says Clapper Rail Trail. You will see a white sign that says CAUTION: POISONOUS SNAKES and another saying saying NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES at the trail head.
To the Box:
Enter the trail head and make your way to the observation deck. Take the trail to the right.
Cross over the long bridge and continue to a bench on your left.
Stay on the path to the left. From the bench, take 14 steps to a bushy tree on your right.
Continue about 26 steps down the path to a very young tree. Go behind this tree to the box. Beware of stickers and thorns.
