Kat hid this for me and already posted it, but now I'm stealing it back!

Difficulty: Easy wide wooded trail. Lots of poison oak off trail. At the time of hiding, there was no poison oak near this particular spot.

Clues: This box is hidden in the Mission Trail Nature Preserve across from the Carmel Mission. There is a spot in this area that was too perfect for the happy cactus.

Follow the directions for the "This Old Man Came Rolling Home" series that is also hidden in the Mission Trail Preserve. After you have found the second box in this series, the directions to Happy Cactus will begin.

After finding box #2 of "Old Man", walk back onto the main trail a few feet away. Line yourself up with the big redwood tree that "Old Man" is hidden behind and walk about 35 more steps up the trail. Look for 4 oak trees growing close together a few feet off the trail to the left. (Up the hillside). Go up between the 3rd and 4th oak tree. Look up and see the red T-post sticking up. In front of that T-post is a multi-trunked tree. In front of the tree is your hidden spiny treasure.

While taking your 35 steps, look and see if you can spot the cactus with a carved happy face on the hillside.
Note from Kat: Seeing that little guy made me want to hide Kennamtn's box in this area!

Handmade stamp & journal - Have fun, rehide well!! This is a popular dog-walking-jogging area, so be stealthy!!
